BACK TO THE ROOTS!The Hungarian horseradish production holds significant importance even at the European Union level, as half of the economic community's production comes from the region of Hajdúság. However, in recent decades, the export of raw products has steadily increased, with nearly 80% of the harvest being processed in foreign facilities. We aim to change this by establishing a new, large-scale processing facility at the heart of the growing area. We believe that local processing of raw materials strengthens the economy at the regional level, increases added value at the national level, and reduces environmental impact on a global scale. |
WHY TORMARICUM?
The HAJDÚSÁGI TORMA is HUNGARIKUM.Torma in Hungarian means horseradish. Hungarikum is a collective term for high quality Hungarian values.
This title strengthens the position of Hungarian horseradish by referring to the extraordinary taste and quality of horseradish and the country's traditional horseradish cultivation, and promotes its preservation and recognition on a national and international level. We are proud of the fact that we are trying to revive a slowly shrinking, undeservedly unknown sector; and meanwhile, in product development, we strive to ensure that this special-tasting and healthy plant would find it's place on our plates outside of the Easter season as well. |
